3. Don’t Pay Full Price

4. Ride the Busiest Coasters First & Early

There are certain coasters in the park that are ultra popular meaning there will always be long lines for these rides.

If you love Knotts, and are planning on visiting more than 2-3 times in one calendar year, you may want to consider purchasing a season pass.

7. Bring Extra Clothing

Whether you’re planning on riding some water rides such as the Timber Mountain Log ride, or if you’re going on a hot day and are prone to sweating heavily.

Is Fast Lane worth it?

Fast Lane is a skip-the-line pass for Knott’s Berry Farm’s most thrilling and popular rides. You’ll pay about $60 extra for a Fast La ne wristband.

What is Knott’s Berry Farm?

Food. Knott’s Berry Farm was built around a restaurant and we made sure to eat dinner at Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant. The famous chicken dinner is large. It comes with four pieces of chicken, salad, sides and a slice of pie for a little over $20.

How long is the wait for Fast Lane?

Fast Lane is available for 13 rides – mostly big coasters and water rides. We found that Fast Lane cut our wait times to under 15 minutes per ride. We often walked right on, even in the busiest part of the day.

What was the inspiration for Splash Mountain?

Timber Mountain Log Ride was also a favorite. We rode it twice. I suspect that Timber Mountain – which has been at Knott’s since 1969 and refurbished somewhat recently – was an inspiration for Splash Mountain at Disneyland.

Is Knott’s Berry Farm open?

When: Year-round. Knott’s Berry Farm is open every day except Christmas Day.

Is Ghost Town alive interactive?

Ghost Town Alive! is fascinating. It’s more interactive theater than a show and it plays all day through the summer on the streets of Knott’s Berry Farm’s Ghost Town. Actors dress in period costume and park guests are encouraged to take part. We observed Ghost Town Alive! later in the day and some guests were really getting into it. We helped vote for a new mayor.

Is Independence Hall open to the public?

You’ll also find a brick-by-brick replica of Independence Hall in Philadelphia, which is always free and open to the public. It is located near Soak City.

Event information

What began as a small farm and roadside berry stand 100 years ago is now almost 60 acres of fun in So-Cal’s most berry-licious theme park, Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, California. With 40 awesome rides, including 10 roller coasters, the park gets over four million visitors a year.

Tickets

When visitors buy in advance, they can save a lot of money on park tickets for Knott’s Berry Farms. Rather than paying full price at the gate, grab your tickets online for significantly less. In the past, tickets have been online for around $50, with tickets at the gate about $85. Save even more if you plan on going more than once.

Transportation

Between Los Angeles and Santa Ana, RVers can get to Knott’s Berry Farm easily just off of CA-39 and CA-91 only a quarter of a mile from I-5. Avoid the major traffic by staying off of the interstates and taking US-91 or US-39 all the way.

Where to stay

Knott’s Berry Farm does not retain a campground or overnight RV spots. However, there are plenty of places in the area where you can stay with your family in a large motorhome or small campervan. Whether you choose a state park, private campground, or a boondocking site, you can still enjoy your day at the park and camp near Los Angeles.

What to pack

The weather in Southern California is almost always excellent with sunny skies and warm weather year-round. The only time it gets really hot is July through September, so for those who are planning a trip then, pack summer clothes. Don’t forget the hoodie or jacket, though, because at night, the temperatures usually drop about 20 degrees.

Where to eat

RVers staying at a campground with full hookups should have no trouble cooking indoors. Visitors tend to cook outside on the provided campfire grill or bring their own camp stove or BBQ pit. Always be prepared with items like extra water, trash bags, cooking and eating utensils, cooking spray, and aluminum foil.

Safety

Whether coming in through the main entrance or a side entrance, prepare to go through the metal detectors by removing items from all pockets, including phones, keys, wallets, and anything else that can set off the detector. Bags and purses will be searched as well, so plan for a few extra minutes of wait time.
