This is where things can get tricky when it comes to potatoes. If you have “Seasonal Growth” enabled, you need to plant the potatoes at the right time of the year, otherwise, they won’t grow. For potatoes, you plant them between March to April and harvest them between August and September.

Harvesting

Harvesting is a tricky business at times in FS22, as you don’t want to destroy the crops so soon after they’ve grown. When you’re harvesting the potatoes, you should fit narrower tyres to your tractor’s wheels to prevent this from happening. If you have crop destruction turned off though, you don’t need to worry about this.

Potato Harvester unloading issue

The bridge to unload potatoes over to the trailer is too low in standard position. I can manually adjust it, but when using hired worker it will only reset to standard position which is too low for some trailers. The hired worker will have to be dismissed in order to unload the harvester to the trailer.

I have been having issues with this harvester as well. When you lower the harvester to start a new row it resets the unload conveyor to its starting position. I didn’t realise it was doing it but couldn’t figure out why I kept hitting my trailer. It wasn’t until near the end of the contract that I saw what was happening.

As mentioned … when you lower the "picker upper thingy" the "bridge" snaps in to the lowest position!

Is it not possible to unload leftover seed from the small Grimme potato planter? I’ve tried with a couple different tractors on it and don’t get the option. The spreaders and sprayers that I’ve used seem to have the unload option as expected.

It might be because the potato planter can take seed or potatoes to plant. I think maybe some magic happens when you load up the planter with seed that it changes it to potatoes. Just a theory

If you are using the Windows or macOS version of the game you can install the Realistic Seeder mod from https://www.lsfarming-mods.com/filebase … ic-seeder/ which will add the functionality to be able to unload the potato planters and some other nice features.

Unfortunately, the Tectron 415 is prohibitively expensive, costing close to half a million dollars. Furthermore, its cutting heads are just slightly wider than the Grimme SE 260, at only 3.0m. This means that the Tectron 415 will still take a very long time to process a single field of Potatoes. On the other hand, its holding tank is significantly larger than that of most harvesters, so it does not need to be offloaded very often. Additionally, the Tectron 415 cuts everything directly in front of it, which gives it another serious advantage over the SE 260.

How to retrieve potatoes from a shed?
