How much straw is in TMR?
The amount of Straw in proper TMR is between 0% and 40%. That means you can make TMR without any Straw. However, Straw is easier and cheaper to produce than the other two components, making it the "filler" in this mixture. What is straw used for?
Straw is one of the three components used in the creation of Total Mixed Ration , along with Hay and Silage. This is done by mixing the three materials in a Mixer Wagon, such as the Kuhn SPV Confort 12, at the appropriate ratios. TMR can then be dumped into a trough at the cow pasture in order to boost cow productivity by a wide margin – to 100% with Straw Bedding (see above), or 90% without.
What is straw in farming simulator?

How to produce hay?
Hay is dried grass. To "produce" it, you will have to buy a windrower ( GF 6502 for 10Â 300$ ). This way, in the place where you drive with the windrower attached, the grass will dry immediately. It is a good idea to attach a mower at the front and a windrower at the back of the tractor. Next, you can load the hay onto a trailer and – similarly to grass – sell it in the shop. However, it is not very profitable, as the price is the same and you only have to work more. Hay will be more useful in the form of bales.
What are green bales made of?

When the process ends, the silage is ready.

Question: Enable Straw Swath
Does this affect my harvest numbers? Or does disabling/enabling have no affect on my harvest, similar to FS15? I would like to gather the left behind straw from my harvest, gather it with a loading wagon and sell it at the Barn to help offset the cost of seeds and fertilizer, but if it reduces my harvest numbers then it is definetly not worth it.
Re: Question: Enable Straw Swath
Putting the straw in a swath to gather and sell has no effect on crop yield whatsoever.
Gathering the straw to sell early on is very much worth it.
